PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES

SEPTEMBER 9, 2006

The September 9, 2006 ABESPA public hearing was called to order by Florence Cuneo, Chair of the Board, at 400 South Union Street, 4 th Floor Conference Room in Montgomery at 12:00 p.m..

Board members present were Dr. Barbara Cady, Dr. Carmen Taylor, Dr. Margaret Hemm, Roan Frederick, Dr. Amanda Blaszczynski, and Ada Holyfield.

Also present were SHAA liaison, Keith Ergle, Assistant Attorney General Yvonne Saxon and Executive Secretary Wanda Rawlinson.

Licensees present were Pat LaCoste, Margaret Johnson, Stacy DeSilvey, and Jan Enstrom.

In addition, several written comments were read and considered.

Four amendments were proposed. Ms. Cuneo read each notice of intended action. The amendments to the Rules and Regulations were as follows:

1) Chapter 870-X-1 titled The Board. To add definition of terms, renumber chapter, and to be in compliance with the Open Meeting Act.

2) Chapter 870-X-2 titled The Licensure, CFY Registration and Assistant Registration. To amend chapter to update language in the rules to comply with changes made to the Code of Alabama 2006.

3) Chapter 870-X-4-.08 titled License Renewal/Use of the License. To improve the quality of Continuing Education requirements.

4) Chapter 870-X-6-.03 titled Principle of Ethics II. To make language consistent with changes to the Code of Alabama to include Fourth Year Internship.

All four of the motions passed unanimously by the Board.
